About artist:

Born on 17th May in 1913 in Lwów. She studied in Wiener Fraunen Academy (from 1932 to 1934) and in the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków. In 1938 she was in Paris where she was able to see the "Surrealistic Exhibition". During the Second World War she managed to escape to Warsaw from "Lwów Getto", after the Warsaw Insurrection she managed to escape to Częstochowa. She participated in First Exhibition of Modern Art in 1948/49. She was the member of Cracovian Group Second, which was established in 1957, in which also participated Tadeusz Kantor, Maria Jarema, Jonasz Stern and others. She found out her own surrealistc forms. Her abstracts works have always the narration. She is also a poet. She published her first volum of poetry in 1972. She obtained The C.K. Norwid Prize in 1976 and in 1996 The J. Cybis Prize.
